The second edition of the International Theatre Festival Reflex, originally planned for March this year, has to be postponed for 2012 due to the economical crisis of 2010 that influenced the Tamási Áron Theatre as well. Lacking the necessary funds, the organizers could not begin the process of selection in time.
At the moment, our perspectives on the future are better and we see a realistic chance for the second edition. Selection is based on the same criteria; the repertoire of the festival would include two theatrical seasons’ most prominent plays, prize-winning performances of the theatrical cultures of Central-Eastern Europe, and we would also like to have a perspective on the contemporary theatrical aspirations of the western theatrical culture.
The first edition received a remarkably significant media attention, riporters of some 25 radio and newspaper have been present at the festival, through their work, more than 250 articles have been published. Moreover, realizing the fact that aside from the artistic importance of such an event the festival has also economic and social advantages as well, many people gave financial support to the festival.
We are pleased to learn of several supporters already expressed their wish for cooperation on the second edition; at present we are looking for the main sponsor of the Reflex Biennale.
